Hi Lynnette,
Thanks for offering to help! :-) I have lots of questions about the soak
off gels. Best brand? Cost per color? Application procedure? I really
cannot invest a lot in product right now. My reduced income = no money to play
with products! My husband just went back to work after 6 months off for
shoulder surgery. Ouch! We are really in a pinch and I need more clients NOW!
:-) I really don't know if advertising a "no chip manicure" would bring in
clients. I mean, the economy around here is in BAD shape! Really BAD shape!
Ever since GM and Packard/Delphi have forced all the employees to "retire" then
stripped them of their health care and pensions, things have been BAD! All
those people who used to work for these businesses now have to pay for their
own health care/prescriptions/dental/vision! So I lost a lot of clients who
just simply cannot afford the extras anymore. The day spa where I rent is also
slow... for the first time in many years! Its just unreal! I am serious when
I say that in the 27 years of doing nails, I have NEVER seen it so bad!
I'm just thinking of ways to cut my expenses and increase my income. Seems
logical to me to take this particular course at this time. Ever read that book
"Who Moved My Cheese"? Well, my cheese has definately moved and I better start
trying to find it! (Oh, and if you haven't read the book, you gotta get a
copy! Its great!)
Thanks,
Pam

Pam,
You need to start the soak off gels but advertise them as a NO CHIP Manicure. I
have picked up sooo many new clients just for this service.
We are all here to help you with it.
Buenos dias,
Lynnette

Subject: NailTech:: Nails in Nursing Homes

Hi Teks,
I am in quite a fix lately. Ever since the economy in my area bottomed out,
my nail business has taken a real hit! I can't remember being this slow since
I very first started doing nails 27 years ago! And even then I had a FULL book
within 6 months!

 Where did the clients go?
5 are in Florida
4 said they couldn't afford to have them done anymore
5 are on the injured reserve list (knee replacement, dementia, broken arm,
heart surgery, foot surgery)
3 went back to plain manicures and had their enhancements taken off
Some are just missing in action, although I don't miss a few of them much!
(How many checks do you bounce before you figure out how to balance your
checkbook!?)

I have had to go to nursing homes lately to do some of the clients who are
sick, and was wondering if there is a need for manicure services in the nursing
homes. I would gladly give up my station rental ($325 a month) and just do
nursing homes at this point! It seems stupid to pay rent when my book is only
1/2 full each week! I really can't afford to go on like this!
Ideas and suggestions are welcome!
Thanks!
Pam
