Hey there! Long time no see, nail tech buds!
I kinda fell off the face of the earth but I've SLOWLY been crawling
back. Aside from a handful of people, I haven't worked as a "nail
tech" since ... hmmm ... the end of 2007? I went back to school to get
my cosmo license in Jan of 2008. Since then, I've been focusing on
THAT (coughcoughHAIRcoughcough) and working for other people.
If you asked me ten years ago if I'd ever work for someone else I would
have LAUGHED like I was insane. I NEVER thought it would happen but it
did. And I can't take it anymore. I miss being my own boss, can't
STAND corporate garbage, & I'm sure as hell not making any money
working at JCP! Soooooooo I'm starting over as a booth renter the
first week of July. (TOTALLY nervous but I took the leap! [gulp])
But here's the thing. I need to buy supplies. And I am SOOOO out of
the loop it's not even funny. I'm going to need your help - pretty
please. Talk to me about "must haves" & "what's new".
I'm ALL about that Shellac business but when I stopped by the supply
house yesterday they were out of the base & top coat & told me
they wouldn't get any in until AUGUST!!! (WHAT THE???)
If I use acrylic at this salon I have to go odorless. (DANG IT!) Clue
me in in that department or talk dirty to me about some gel action. I
bought the IBD kit/light a few years ago while in Orlando & NEVER
USED IT. (Well, not counting the one full set I did someone ... I
think it was Bonn. Can't remember.) Does the gel expire? I'm telling
you, I don't have a clue.
