hi peggy :) you would indeed apply them the same. for acrylics what i like to do is put down a layer of acrylic, then take my brush and go over the layer to make it damp again and then pick up flakes, shells, etc. with a wet brush and lay them on the nail. then i take a tiny wet bead of acrylic and dot the stuff i want to stay down. then i cap the whole thing in clear when i have everything where i want it. you can also get a small bead of acrylic on your brush and pick up the items that way. it easier in gel since its already sticky ;) glitter is easy :) with acrylic you can mix it 3:1 with your powder or you can get a small bead on your brush and dip that into the glitter. with gel, you can mix it in or dip the nail into the glitter or you can get some on your brush. hth and feel free to ask more :) denise In a message dated 7/24/2010 5:39:59 P.M. But, when I apply the shells or mylar flakes- I apply them the same way as I would the clay slices? That is moosh them into the acrylic or just lay them in the gel and then apply another clear layer of either acrylic or gel? And, do you have any other advice on the application of glitter dust with acrylic or gel? -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "NailTech" group.
