For those who are not bakers, yeast smells earthy, somewhat sour, rich and thick. Go to the grocery store and buy a package of yeast. Dissolve it in water as the instructions say and sniff. If you do pedicures it is important that you know what yeast smells like.

What does yeast smell like? To me it smells like yeast. LOL... I have a very heightened sense of smell. Some people cannot smell the things I can. (a long time ago I smelled smoke--no one else could smell it. At the time, we lost our electricity. Long story short-- it was an underground electrical fire) There is lots of info online about acidopholus. Here is one link that is pretty simple to understand.: http://www.answers.com/topic/acidophilus-3 Yeast can manifest itself in many ways. When I smell it, it is very strong and usually with clients with issues on their feet. One more thing to everyone-- I know that you think it is best to tell clients that we cannot work on them with foot problems. If you let them go, they will run, not walk to the nearest chop shop and you now lost a client. It is best to educate them and take care of them. Also, even though we KNOW it is a fungal something or other, we cannot diagnose them. So there is the Catch22! buenos dias, Lynnette On Jul 26, 10:30 pm, Michelle Phoenix <[email protected]> wrote: How does acidophilus help cracks? I'm fascinated. Also, what does yeast smell like? I have quite a few who really need to see someone, but refuse to go. I will not bore you with all their details, but found something that may help those nasty feet. Two months ago one client who is ocd with her feet had started to get those dreaded fissures. As I was doing her feet, I smelled yeast. I only smell this on clients whose feet are bad. This one just had a few fissures, but it is not like her to have any at all. So I know many of you wok not believe this...she told me she stopped taking her acidopholus!! The next month she came back and sure enough the fissures were gone! She started the acidopholus again. So for those of you whose clients have those nasty feet and will not see a doc, tell them to go to Walmart and pick up some acidopholus. It will be much cheaper and you will see some improvement. I suggested this to my client with the worst feet anyone would ever not want to see. I hope she got some. I am not a freaking miracle worker for your feet, especially if you only come every ten weeks! Lol Buenos dias! I have done her for 2 yrs now last fall before she left for Fla, I was able to get her to go to the Dr and get prescription lotions for it and she was using it her feet were on the mend. Well this spring she came back and I assumed she had continued treatment,WRONG they were rotten again! I was disgusted and she knew it by the time she left. Well in our time we talked about why she stopped using the cream nightly and the other one weekly. She stated that she was feeling horrible and having side effects from the medication. come to find out upon further investigation she wasn't using gloves to apply the creams. So I informed her she should restart the creams, and use gloves to apply it. Because the skin on our hands are much thinner than that on our feet. I explained to her that a pkg of gloves for 100 is only 5bucks no excuse there right , I even offered a box right there on the spot. Well when she left I was under the assumption that she would get more cream and restart. WRONG, guess who was in this week!! She didn't start back up. I am so upset with this gal, I am learning that the plastics we use in our hand and foot baths are porous and hold the bacteria no matter how much we clean and disinfect. She knew I was upset with her and it didn't seem to bother her one bit! which makes me mad that a person would knowingly continue to not treat a foot disease and subject me and my other clients to it. I have been searching the MI web site for rules and regulations on this but cant find anything, I know legally I can turn her away for it, I just want the paper trail to prove it. I do all of her neighbors and I don't want her bad mouthing me when I tell her next time she calls that I can no longer preform services for her until she is using the prescription and on the mend. I informed her I was going to a waterless pedi and mani system, I am hopping this was enough to I guess drive her away with out any confrontation. Any suggestions?
