Angie, thanks so much for the information. But, I had some questions on your method of application. What is protein bond, why was it only applied to the free edge, and is it really necessary to dry wipe the ECO Base Coat before proceeding to Shellac or can I just proceed without wiping and just wipe at the very end after I have applied and cured the ECO Clear? Thanks so much and sorry to bother you again, Peggy :o)! ----- Original Message ----- From: Angela R Wingerter To: [email protected] Sent: Tuesday, July 27, 2010 3:42 PM Subject: Re: NailTech:: Shellac
I had ordered top and base and three colors of shellac from premier. When my order came in I only got the three colors, so I used the eco base and clear with it and it is holding up great! This is what I did... File and shape cuticle work took a 180 grit file lightly around cuticle are buffed the shine off with one of those orange and black buffers Cleansed the nails with 99% alcohol Applied protien bond only on the free edge applied base very thin cured 30 seconds dry wiped some of the tacky off applied shellac color cured 2 min second coat color cured 2 min applied eco clear cured 2 min. wiped off tacky layer Don't really think I would of needed the primer and not sure how much buffing was needed but that is what I did. Isn't ECO a sog system? Will it really work with Shellac being it's a hybrid? And, what are the steps you do when applying both products together? Thanks so much, Peggy :o)! ----- Original Message ----- From: Angela R Wingerter To: [email protected] Sent: Tuesday, July 27, 2010 10:33 AM Subject: Re: NailTech:: Shellac Jackie, Try Eco They will send you a sample. Ask them to send you a sample of the base and clear. I used it with Shellac color and it stays on great. They have a good deal $75 and you will get to try all their colors, base, top, and shimmers. You can find gelish at Nail Tech Supply. I think it is nailtechsupply.com. They are located in Gladstone Mo. Is that anywhere near you? I'm having a hard time finding a place to order it from. I hate that I have to stop using Shellac, but I'm going to start turing away customers because I have no product. Thanks! I purchased 2 top coats. I'm going to be out of base coat soon because so many people are loving this! But I'm going to check out other base and top coat options since CND is on such back order. I hate that clients might have to stop wearing while I'm waiting for supplies. I'm lovin' it also - I can wear polish on my natural nails and it doesn't come off while working! Sometimes I use Axxium top, but my preference is Gelish.. ... ________________________________ The New Busy is not the old busy.
