Interesting article, Diana! The last time I gave away services was to support a lost child ID program with the police department. The organization sold 4,000 coupon books. I had about 20 coupons redeemed. The coupon was for a free basic manicure or 2 for the price of one rock star toes.
I've given lots of "free manicure" coupons to raise money for various nonprofits. I've also used the coupons to build my business, but have not had much luck. In both scenarios, people don't come back....I think they are in it to get something for nothing! And the "something" doesn't last long so why would they pay for it a second time?? However, I think those of you who are giving away the gel polish part of your manicures are very wise. I will adopt your strategy. Marsha Rubino Gimme Nails @ Skin Envy Day Spa 38 First Ave E. Ste.
