Maggie, thats why I wont give up my centro, it is a palm with a great phone.. touch screen, I use my nails or stylus.. none of the new phones come with a stylus so you know they are heat sensitive not touch sensitive meaning you have to touch with the pads of your fingers..

There is no point IMHO to get a phone and only use it as a palm.. besides not sure if you are aware, Palm was bought by HP and there is zero news about whats coming down the pike for new equipment. The pre & pixie stink - I can tell you for a fact the pixie only wants to auto activate itself when you power it up, there is no getting around it.

Try this scenario on for size.. I;m in VA, phone rings it is Maureen who does my tootsies - and does them well I might add :) we chit chatted and she mentions I am overdue for my pedi. I put her on speakerphone, accessed my Agendus appointment book scheduled my pedi, took her off speaker, chatted a bit more and done. I could have done it without putting her on speakerphone, just would have to had her hold while I looked, talked, looked, booked, talked.. not a huge ordeal

i don't want to answer my appointment book. i know I know...but i don't want my phone and my pda to be the same device. i hear that Blackberries and possibly the palm phones will work as pda's without having the phone service activated. So that's what i'm considering. i'd love to stick with palm but haven't had a chance to play with the new ones.

i love my Tungsten C has an external qwerty keyboard AND a touch screen. i'd love to have another device with that combo-- but i'm not a fan of the conductive screens that i can't use the tip of a pen or the corner of a nail on.

i know. i'm being difficult and refusing to join the new millenium.

i have a motorola Zine nz5 phone.

The sad, sad day has arrived: My trusty and beloved Palm Pilot Tungsten C has given up the ghost.

It's not all the way dead just yet, just mostly dead. Yesterday it told me the battery was "extremely low" then proceded to refuse to turn on. No big deal-- just put it on the charger over night and things will go back to normal.

But despite it working fine while ON the charger, once I took it off the charger and brought it into work-- it just won't turn on again.

I'm going to have to run home and grab the charger and keep it down here at the salon now.

If I recall-- I won't be able to sync it to the new laptop because the software isn't compatible with Windows 7 (I don't think it even liked Vista-- but who did?)

Point being-- I NEED to find a new nifty electronic device to keep my schedule on.

I LOVE my Tungsten C. I do NOT want my phone and my appointment book to be the same device. I've been told that I can use any of the "smart" phones as just a PDA without activating the phone service-- anyone have suggestions? I like the built in keyboard, and I like the Palm software-- at least, the software that I'm used to... I bought the thing in 2004.

And the left shift key on my new laptop is not responding half the time-- and I just had to replace my work camera because my old one went blind. This is NOT my month for electronic devices.
