I remember those bottles too! Weird idea, I think. My first gel system was Lighthouse (?) could that be it. 6 watt bulbs in a tiny little, paper-thin tunnel-type lamp. I bought it from TIS. That was in, maybe 2000. Then I went to the ABA in Calgary and bought into the LCN gels ($75/40ml). There was just one distributor in the US...one of the NE states.
