Ug... just what we need!

In the UK, we have something similar being sold by one of our biggest chains:
http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/4406277.htm I don't know
how many times I've had parents calling me saying "my daughter got one of
these,
and now we can't get it off!" So there's me, filing off all this crud off
their daughter's fingers.

I admit to trying the Nailene acrylic set from Walmart on a recent visit to
Canada. My brother cracked his big toenail, so I said that it was too bad we
weren't at my house or I could put a nail overlay on it to keep the nail
together. My mom saw this set and bought it for the repair. It was the
weirdest acrylic I ever saw - very gloopy to use, and near impossible to get a
nice result. The instructions were vague and there was no guidance given to
prep or proper hygiene or disposal. I'm a professional with years of
experience, so I don't know how novices could use it easily. I did use it for
the repair, but it wasn't as nice as it would have been with my own products.

When are people going to realise that these things aren't for home use? If you
want something done right, ask a pro!
