I am doing the same thing Jess is doing and having great results with no drying
out issues or white spots anymore. If it is a new client or a one time occasion
then I use the base that came with the system so it can be soaked off but I
won't soak off every two weeks anymore.

Jill I had clients with that problem also.  I also had too many stress
area cracks and people's nails curling in at the C curve horribly.  I
started doing a base layer of classic gel and then color - and efile
off the color when they return.  ALL the problems went away.  I think
Shellac is great for temporary use but for soaking so often I dont
think its beneficial to the clients health of their nails.

just my opinion ;)
