Hi, all... I have a client who wears the same red at every appointment (Kennebunk Port from OPI. She brings it with her, because I don't carry OPI, and she's pretty much the only person I use polish on anyway :D) She ALWAYS smudges at least one nail before she leaves (never expects me to fix it... just does the "tongue thing" on it and doesn't complain. Half the time I don't even notice she did it until she comes back), so at one point, I custom-blended a red acrylic for her. She LOVED the fact that they were dry when I was done, BUT apparently she was allergic to the pigment in the red acrylic or something, because she broke out all around her cuticles whenever I would use it. I soaked them off, went back to regular pink acrylic, and she was fine. So there went THAT idea. She also is apparently allergic to something in China Glaze polish, as she broke out similarly when she brought in a brand new bottle of that (a color called "High Maintenance") to replace her old bottle of OPI.
So I decided to try SOG on her. She liked them, but I use eco, and there isn't a color of eco similar enough to the red that she wants (nothing standard matches, and I have tried doing some blends that still aren't quite the same) :-\ So we're back to using her OPI polish, and her smudging. Long story, I know... but here's my question to those who use Gelish: Is there a color of Gelish that is similar to OPI's Kennebunk Port or China Glaze's High Maintenance - a pretty, blue-based red? I noticed that a beauty supply near me now carries Gelish, so I thought I would get a bottle to try out just for her if there is the right color available. It'll be nice not to have to pay for shipping and such for a product that I only need one bottle of :D Hopefully she won't be allergic to it, too! UGH! Thanks!
