Hi Maggie, I use Genbook, primarily for the c/c capture to avoid non-payment
of no-shows, which has been reduced to zero since I implemented it. You
can also go in the 'back end' and book client appointments yourself very
quickly and easily. If you happen to have an iPhone (I don't) there is also
a mobile app.

I don't synch to another calendar other than Outlook, so I don't have
personal experience synching up with Google calendar, however this is from
the Genbook website and hopefully it gives you the answer you were looking
for.

* Synchronize your Genbook Calendar with Outlook, Google Calendar and
many others through industry-standard iCal email attachments. In addition,
your customers can also receive this iCal attachment to ensure their
calendar is in synch with yours.

I like that my clients receive an automated reminder which can be an email
or text message. I also like that they receive an email after their
appointment asking if they'd like to review my business..other prospective
clients can read the reviews before they decide to book. It also handles
recurring appointments.

I probably don't use all the functions of Genbook but I love how quick and
easy it is to set up and use, and you can link it to your Facebook business
page and/or your website so people can book right from there.

Ok... I THINK I'd like this Rosy program and I've checked on both the
Genbook and Schedulicity which also seem very much what I'm looking for...

What I NEED, is

* something that syncs with Google calendar (I SO am not up for another
calendar migration in the near future!)

* something that REQUIRES holding the time with a credit card (or can be set
up to do this) that will automatically charge that card if the appointment
is not cancelled with adequate notice-- or allows ME to charge that card. Or
something that holds the appointment with a deposit.

* something that still allows ME control of my calendar: so clients CAN
still book directly through me and so I can arbitrarily mark off time as I
choose...or add time.

I'm having a hard time finding the answers to these questions on the sites
for the various programs-- and I'm not really interested in a free trial
only to then decide against it and try another company's free trial etc and
so on.

If it DOESN'T sync with Google calendar-- I need it to sync with my ipod
touch so I can view the offline version of the calendar.
