Thanks, Holly, I am not buffing nor am I soaking in acetone. What I have found that works best for removal, for me, is using about an 8th of a 4 x 4 coarse gauze (cutting a 4 x 4 in half then cutting the halves in half and then cutting the remaining small pieces in half again), saturating with acetone, folding in half again, placing on the nail plate and tightly wrapping with aluminum foil. The coarse gauze seems to really scrub the shellac off easily, I give it a little twisty turny before pulling it off and there is usually very little left to scrape off with an orange wood stick.
I will try again to get colour, etc. applied more thinly. Why do my nails seems to be so much softer and weaker after wearing Shellac? How long should I be expecting Shellac to last without peeling, chipping, etc. I am not getting 14 days -- perhaps 10. I will try applying as per the video. Thanks for your help. Pat. Pat. Also I am not getting 14 days wear out of it -- it starts to peel. chip or crack after about 10 days, I'm assuming product is too thick? The other thing I've noticed that my nails are much softer than they were when I started using Shellac, and they are breaking and/or tearing with product on them. What am I doing wrong.
