Go to Blogger. I maintain three sites this way. First get a gmail email then register with Blogger. Then go into your dashboard for Blogger and purchase a URL thru them. Its actually GoDaddy that brokers the domains and it will cost between 2 and 10 dollars, depending on whether or not they have the domains on sale.
Its easy!!!! 10 minutes and you're live:) Google owns Blogger so it's a no brainer. My crochet pattetn site gets 300-500 hits daily with no special effort on my part.
