This concept is very popular in Dallas/Fort Worth. The one I am in charges me $150 per week for the smallest room which is 75 square feet. (7.5" x 10"). The larger rooms are much more...I think there is a large suite for which they are askin $375/week. The amenities include public restrooms, a break room with fridge and microwave, seating in two different waiting areas, free WiFi (If you get here early and get online because there are only so many slots availble) free flat screen television and cable service. Utilites are included (electric, water, sewer, garbage). There is a credit card processor you can use if you pay the fee (5%?) The common areas are supposed to be swept and mopped (this is not done as well as it could be). There is a concierge at the front desk most of the time to greet people, but she does not do booking. Your room will come with the TV and a sink of your choice...and there is equipment available to rent if you like. You are responsible for the interior décor and painting...and cleaning. It's sort of like having a shop in a mall. I really am liking it! If there's drama....simply shut your door! lol

Yes the owner has built and franchised over 4 salons in Las Vegas, 5 in Utah and 2 in California... There are 1 air controls per 4 rooms, owner supplies washer/dryer refrigerator in kitchen area along with microwave, the entire salon is cleaned and maintained by the owner including restrooms along with supplies towels and tissue, we do have a waiting area with a couch and several single chairs throughout the entire salon hallways, he also supplies free Internet and our info listed on their website basic repairs for the furniture security doors are provided...I am grand fathered in as I was the only and first person to take a chance on this concept over 3 years ago and only pay $175 for a room that would rent for $225 per week the room sizes and rent vary starting at $200 to $400 per week...no upfront fees and 1 week free prior to move in to design your room, utilities are included, you clean your own room bug service provided except in each room extra 10$ fee. rent is automatically pulled from your acct and you supply your own towels and cleaning supplies. The owners not on property and everyone gets along and works very well with each other.

Hope I answered all your questions?

Anna, am I right to say, your owner has made a building with different rooms to rent out. I have seen this set ups in the larger cities. A couple of questions.

Do you have a waiting area for all clients that sit and wait till you come out of your room? Do you have a washer/dryer area for all to use, or individual ones? How does this work for the whole building" share costs etc.?
Are your utilities included?
How about restrooms? Who cleans these daily and keeps them stocked? Who pays for the supplies?
Do you have individual temperature controls for your room?
And how much did you say you were paying?

Sorry for so many questions, but this set up has always fascinated me. Your room is beautiful!!!!!!!! diana from indiana

I'm so happy in my spot I don't know that I could ever work in an open salon err again and not sure my clients would receive services in any other type of setting....we are all spoiled and love the privacy quite and comforts of being in a private room I suggest it to anyone that has a good business mind and can hustle up clientele just by doing great work and being professional. We don't get walk in business and we don't have a receptionist to fees us business so you'd have to be able to acquire your business and learn to keep them coming back and happy enough to spread the word of your business.

The new place would only be 5 minutes from my home, so I am currently spending that hour in the car and am looking to not have that. I really do get all your points too. I also appreciate the pictures from Anna. Its nice to see how a room like that can be set up. You guys are all great! I will let post again when I make my decision.
