Unfortunately, Paul is still correct in calling anybody who doesn't understand why RFC2826 matters a "whacko". Read it *carefully*, and note that nowhere does it say ICANN has to run the root, only that if there is other than exactly one consistent view of the root, things go pear-shaped quickly.
