I want to use the VS.Net dependencies to control the build order of a couple of projects. One project uses the other project in a custom build step but they are not dependent in that they use code from each other. I found that this type of dependency does not work with the NAnt <solution> task. To repro: Create solution with two unmanaged C++ EXE projects in it; A.exe and B.exe. Using the Project Dependencies dialog, make B.exe dependent on A.exe. Do a build in VS.NET and everything builds fine. A.exe is compiled and then B.exe is compiled. Do a clean. Create a small .build file which uses <solution> task to build the solution above. Run nant. The build will fail because Nant is inserting a reference to A.lib on the B.exe linker command. But A.exe is a EXE project and has no .lib file.
