This causes cmd.exe not to recognize %SystemRoot% after you rebootet. for example xcopy doesn't work anymore from the command line. ( It still works from the run menu). solution is to copy the path value, then delete the key, create a new key of type REG_EXPAND_SZ, and copy your path value to it.
