If you are using Visual Source Safe 6.0d (as supplied with VS.NET 2003)
please refer to the following KB article:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?id=837417

A change in the automation interface in VSS 6.0d inhibits a recursive get
when a label is specified. After applying the patch associated with the KB
article the recursive behaviour is restored.

(Apologies for not responding directly to the bug, I'm still waiting for my
sourceforge account confirmation).

Cheers,

Brett Waring

Initial Comment:
vssget doesn't know how to get from a label. It is
especially important to be able to do this so that builds
are repeatable.
