As you probably know, there is an energetic fundraising effort in progress to save the entire site. It is also important to know that much of the government funding being sought is contingent upon a public display of support from Native Americans and other Indigenous People. MiamiCircle.org has received countless emails from Native Americans and other Indigenous People advocating for preservation of the Circle. Respect for the authors necessitates that these email communications remain private, yet there is an urgent need to give a public voice to all of those who care about the Circle. Therefore, this plea is issued to all Native Americans and other Indigenous People to write a letter supporting the allocation of funds to save the Miami Circle. Letters should be addressed to all interested public officials. Chiefs and Elders are respectfully requested to write on behalf of the Tribe or Nation and to encourage members to write. If we speak with a unified voice, we will be heard. Original letters are recommended. However, for those who wish to participate, but who are precluded by other responsibilities from authoring a letter at this time, a sample letter is provided. This letter may be copied and pasted into email, or printed out and sent via ground mail. Names, Tribal/Nation affiliation, and addresses are critical to document our support, whether sent by email or ground mail. Letters may be sent via email to this website. For those who prefer to send a letter via ground mail, the mailing address is: MiamiCircle.org, Inc. 108 South Miami Ave. Miami, FL 33130 All communications will be collected and delivered to appropriate public officials. Thank you. Miami Circle Supporters @ MiamiCircle.org, Inc. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Those interested in helping save this irreplaceable historic site are urged to contact national, state and local officials for support.
