Blessed is the Man*

*Note: The use of the word "Man" denotes all members of the Human Race, not just the Male of the species.

Blessedness= happiness identified with pure character. Being favored, prosperity enjoying spiritual happiness and the favor of God; enjoying the great happiness of Heaven. Inward happiness regardless of exterior circumstances.

 (Psalm 1 KJV)
 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly,
nor standeth in the way of sinners,
nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
{2} But his delight is in the law of the LORD;
and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
 {3} And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water,
that bringeth forth his fruit in his season;
his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
{4} The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.
 {5} Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment,
nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
{6} For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous:
but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

(Psa 32:2-6 KJV)
Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity,
and in whose spirit there is no guile.
 {3} When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long.
 {4} For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me:
my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah.
{5} I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid.
I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD;
and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.
{6} For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found:
surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him.

(Psa 34:8-9 KJV)
 O taste and see that the LORD is good:
 blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
 {9} O fear the LORD, ye his saints:
for there is no want to them that fear him.

(Psa 65:4-6 KJV)
 Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee,
 that he may dwell in thy courts:
we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple.
 {5} By terrible things in righteousness wilt thou answer us, O God of our salvation;
who art the confidence of all the ends of the earth,
and of them that are afar off upon the sea:
 {6} Which by his strength setteth fast the mountains; being girded with power:

(Psa 84:4-5 KJV)
 Blessed are they that dwell in thy house:
they will be still praising thee. Selah.
 {5} Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee;
in whose heart are the ways of them.

(Psa 84:9-12 KJV)
 Behold, O God our shield, and look upon the face of thine anointed.
{10} For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand.
I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.
{11} For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory:
no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.
{12} O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.

(Psa 94:12-19 KJV)
 Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O LORD,
 and teachest him out of thy law;
{13} That thou mayest give him rest from the days of adversity,
 until the pit be digged for the wicked.
{14} For the LORD will not cast off his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance.
{15} But judgment shall return unto righteousness:
and all the upright in heart shall follow it.
 {16} Who will rise up for me against the evildoers?
or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?
{17} Unless the LORD had been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence.
{18} When I said, My foot slippeth; thy mercy, O LORD, held me up.
{19} In the multitude of my thoughts within me, thy comforts delight my soul.

(Psa 112:1-4 KJV)
 Praise ye the LORD.
Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD,
that delighteth greatly in his commandments.
 {2} His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed.
{3} Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever.
{4} Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness:
he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.

(Prov 8:10-15 KJV)  (Prov 8:32-36 KJV)
Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold.
 {11} For wisdom is better than rubies;
and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.
{12} I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions.
 {13} The fear of the LORD is to hate evil:
pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.
{14} Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength.
{15} By me kings reign, and princes decree justice......
(Prov 8:32-36 KJV)  Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children:
 for blessed are they that keep my ways.
{33} Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not.
 {34} Blessed is the man that heareth me,
watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.
{35} For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD.
{36} But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul:
all they that hate me love death.

(Isa 56:1-2 KJV)
Thus saith the LORD, Keep ye judgment, and do justice:
for my salvation is near to come, and my righteousness to be revealed.
 {2} Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it;
that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it,
and keepeth his hand from doing any evil.

(Jer 17:7-10 KJV)
 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.
 {8} For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters,
and that spreadeth out her roots by the river,
and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green;
and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.
{9} The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
{10} I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins{Heb=the mind as the interior self},
even to give every man according to his ways,
and according to the fruit of his doings.

(Rom 4:5-8 KJV)
But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly,
his faith is counted for righteousness.
{6} Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man,
unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works,
{7} Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.
 {8} Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.

(James 1:12-16 KJV)
 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation:
for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life,
which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
{13} Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God:
for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
 {14} But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
{15} Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin,
when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
{16} Do not err, my beloved brethren.
