Hi Dom,

That's looking nice :) Guess we'd better get a WCS working so people can do proper downloads!

There are some nice features evolving, you can now easily load WMSs from other servers into the client. I have preloaded the server with a few WMS endpoints to try out - 2 from BADC, 1 from PML (using NcWMS) and 1 from Metacarta.com.

In a brilliant bit of timing, our server fell over ;) Happily, that let me test what happens if the server is dead - it might be worth adding something that lets people see the server isn't responding in a reasonable time.

Note there are still interoperability issues to iron out - such as PML's map legends are vertical whereas the client expects horizontal, but these things are steadily getting ironed out - and are likely to be part of the OGC Met domain working group's remit in the near future.

Interesting point on the vertical legends - I don't think we've actually used those as yet so I guess that's what's coming out of ncWMS by default. It generates those on the fly afaik.

There are also some interesting extensions with ncWMS for the WMS part - I see you got the palette selection, which is great (although the legend didn't update when I switched to greyscale, for example - you might be missing a parameter there). There's also an extension to do logarithmic scaling, which is very useful for the chlorophyll data. Depending on how you handle different servers, it may be better to wait for the OGC to incorporate these sort of styling options.
