Hi Dom

We have had a ticket since forever in MOLES
(http://proj.badc.rl.ac.uk/moles/ticket/15)

Simon argued in V3.2 that we should handle this with xlink etc ... but I
now think this is essentially exactly the same issue we have with
phenomenon. Maybe it's not.

So I've reopened the ticket since I still don't understand how we should
handle this in UML.

We have outbound links which in metafor we are handling with
CI_OnlineResource. Recall that CI_OnlineResource has the
applicationprofile attribute available, with a rather poor definition of
what it's for. "name of an application profile that
can be used with the online resource".

I think we could for example have a codelist here that included:
 geosciml
 csml
 vivo
 cerif
etc ...

Or URIs to descriptions of those things or ,,,

Then, where a moles class wants to point out to a better more complete
discussion of something, then the appropriate attribute would have a
ci_onlineresource and the instances would say what sort of resource it
was via the applicationProfile.

So,
1) did you get a copy of the ticket reopening, and
2) what do you think about using ci_onlineresource in this way?

(Simon: I have a dejavu feeling about this, so if I'm rehashing old
ground, remind me).

Thanks
Bryan
