Jack,

GR-49-CORE "Generic Requirements for Outdoor Telephone Network Interface
Devices (NIDs)" covers NIDs. There's also some useful information in
GR-2834-CORE "Generic Requirements for Basic Electrical, Mechanical, &
Environmental Criteria for Outside Plant Equipment". For Safety, UL uses
Subject 1697 and the category is DUZO. These requirements borrow from UL
60950, UL 1459, the NEC, GR-1089-CORE, GR-49-CORE, and a few other
standards. You should also keep in mind that you'd have to meet FCC Class B
as the device is mounted directly on a residence. The RBOC exemption goes
away since the device is not under their complete control.

Best regards,

Dave

Subject: NID

I'm looking for applicable Telcordia standards for an outdoor Network
Interface Device to be mounted on a resisdence. It would connect to the
telco via fiber and have copper going back into the house.

Thanks in advance for any help,

Jack
