Dear Members, What is the procedure for filing waivers per Sec. 68.5 of FCC Part 68. In our particular case, manufacturer has to file a waiver from Section 68.312(k)to obtain Registration for the telephone which detects the presence of a stutter dial tone.
Stutter dail tone is a series of short separate tones produced by telephone company to alert a voice mail subscribers that they have a voicemail message. Subject telephone automatically checks for the presence of stutter dial tone and, if detected, operates a light indicator of waiting voicemail message. This feature is already used by various manufacturers, but we understand that the waiver should be filled for each product which employs it. PETER S.
