PeopleSoft's Conway Admits 'Vilifying' Oracle Bid
True, PeopleSoft former CEO Craig Conway testified, he
called Oracle "a sociopathic company" after Oracle
first tried to eat PeopleSoft for lunch. And yes,
terminology like "Genghis Khan" and "atrocious behavior" did
pop up in e-mail and interviews. But, after all, isn't a

1. News: Is It the Beginning of PeopleSoft's End?
It's only responsible, in a fiduciary-obligations sort of
way, for PeopleSoft's board to say they'd consider
reasonable bids for the company. But when board member
Steven Goldby stood up in a Delaware court to say that the
company is open to negotiations with Oracle if the price is
right, it was the first time in 16 months that PeopleSoft
had admitted the possibility of negotiating--an event that
many saw as tantamount to the posting of a "For Sale" sign.

Some 20 security flaws have been designated as critical.
Most can lead to buffer overflows. IBM has FixPaks out to
address the bugs, which can be found on versions 8.0.0 and
8.1.0 for AIX, HP-UX, Solaris, Linux and Windows. Check out
