trailer frame. If the tongue of the trailer is low, for example, the rear
tires lift off of the ground. This is not a trivial matter once you look at
the load rating of the tires and do the arithmetic. If the trailer is not
perfectly level, the front tires are loaded well above their rated limits.
One purpose of your trailer's springs is to distribute the load evenly over
the number of tires your particular trailer uses. If you have tires leaving the
ground, your concerns over tire overloading are justified. The tortion
springs on your trailer are definitely too stiff. I pulled Race car trailers for
years before being smitten with Multihulls, and I have made a lot of trailering
mistakes.
