Gents,

Practicality force me to sell my Lotus Elite.

It is a 1976 car, originally a 504 RHD (PAS, A/C and leather seats),
converted to Rover V8 and SD1 5 speed manual gearbox.

Technically speaking it is in top nick and used as a daily driver.
Repaired and reconditioned when needed and regardless of cost. I really
renewed everything from front to back where technical components are
concerned. The exterior is OK but the inside is rough.

Specs include:
-prototype of spyder chassis upgrade (!)
-ford capri rear diff (much stronger)
-fast road engine (top speed 160 mph)

interior/exterior:
red, electric window lifters and mirrors; A/C compressor gone...
The headlamps stay down for weeks.
Interior in red leather (rough) and sunbleached carpets. One front seat
needs reupholstering or serious repairs, the other only some stitching.
Rear seats OK.

In the last 2 years I had almost everything renewed, see below:

Engine:
Reconditioned (the engine bay looks perfect!), ported heads, Holley 4
barrel on offenhauser manifold with beautiful chrome pancake airfilter,
tubular exhaust manifolds, typhoon cam, high bleed lifters, adjustable
pushrods, crane fireball ignition, high end spark plug cables, hardened
rockershafts, all new gaskets including composite head gaskets and
valley gasket, honed cylinders, new piston rings and internal bearings,
new seals, new radiator and new electric fans, oil cooler with new
hoses, stainless steel silencers etc.

Gearbox:
Rover SD1, in since summer last year. Hydraulic clutch.

Propshaft:
new and custom made

Diff:
instead of the lotus item a ford capri 3-litre diff, custom made new
inner drive shafts made by moser engineering
http://www.moserengineering.com/ included (not in now), new custom made
outer drive shafts, all universal joints new.

Chassis:
rear end:
Spyder chassis upgrade makes that the U/J's in the drive shafts are no
longer loaded with stress from the suspension. Look at
http://www.spydercars.com/ for more info. My car is really the
prototype. Not all steel but alloy hubs! Adjustable camber and spax
adjustable shocks.
Chassis has no rust, is all silver coated, new rear diff reinforcement
bar, new rear zinc plated triangular trailing arms, all new rolled not
lathed studs (much stronger), nuts and bolts, extra set of diff rubbers
included.
front end:
New bushes, new track rod ends, new trunnions (special high pressure
oiler included), new ball joints, new wheel bearings, recon PAS-pump
etc.
The car looks beautiful underneath and from the back where you see lots
of the suspension, better than new!

Brakes:
New front rotors (discs), lathed rear drums with custom brake shoes,
reconditioned slave cylinders, new master cylinder, new brake lines and
brake hoses. Even the handbrake adjustment mechanism works perfectly!

Tires:
2 new and 2 almost new Goodyear eagles 205/60 VR14's

Electrical:
Much redone with proper relays, redone centre console (not an
improvement in styling, done by the builder of the conversion, but
technically very good) etc.

Extra's
Original shop manual and parts manual, guide for the conversion with
wiring diagrams etc, original test from road and track.

The car is exceptionally fast, seats four adults with lots of luggage,
has incredible roadholding and is relatively silent. Maintenance is easy
where the drive line is concerned. The rest I already did so you don't
have to worry!
On the highway it drives 1 litre on 11 kilometres at 80 MPH! When
pushing it makes not even 50% of that, ofcourse. It has a dutch
registration and recent MoT.

Piccie of the actual car (I'm behind the 'wheel) at:

Specs mentioned there are incorrect!

Mail me for more info!
