Imagine Mars
http://marslander.jpl.nasa.gov/about/

"The Imagine Mars Project is a national arts, sciences and technology education initiative that has harnessed America's fascination with space and led young people to work together with educators and civic leaders to design a Mars community for 100 people."  The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) relaunched this project after the success of the original Mars Millennium Project.  "Students explore their own community and decide which arts, scientific and cultural elements will be important on Mars."  How about launching a rocket, composing an opera, building your own ideal Mars city, just about any activity in the arts science and technology fields that would improve your Martian city is left to your creativity.  Full instructions are available for getting started.  Whatever your age, here's the ideal way to get ready for intergalactic exploration!  See you on Mars!

Behold the turtle.  He makes progress only when he sticks his neck out.

Reader's Digest CyberSmiles

As a traffic safety consultant, I often gave talks to organizations on accident prevention. One night after I spoke to a PTA group, the program chairperson thanked me profusely and gave me a check for fifty dollars. "Giving these presentations is part of my job," I said. "Could I donate the money to one of your causes?" "That would be wonderful," she gushed. "We have just the program that could use it. We're trying to raise money so we can afford better speakers."
