Windows Ada database support. - 2 new
-------------------------------------
...Sorry, but I cannot follow you. Is it about handling relations? From your
previous posts I understood that in your view "database operations" =
"operations on relations". If true => the question 2, if false => 1. ...
Writing triggered procedure is not an objective, it is a solution. ...I do not
see it as necessary for Ada.Databases. At some remote stage the - Wed, Dec 1

...Maybe you want to brush up your C and read "ISO/IEC 9899:1999 7.14". In C
exceptions are called signal and in the case discussed a the "SIGFPE" would
have been raised. Without a signal handler the programm would have died. With

Float precision - gnat vs objectada - 5 new
-------------------------------------------
I'm working on a Ada95/C project that shall run on both Linux and Windows. I
have some problems getting the same float precision on both platforms. Example:
 ----------------------------- subtype Real is Long_Float; pi : Real; pi := 3.

Thick vs. Thin bindings - 1 new
-------------------------------
...One way of thinking is: Thin binding (if it is a C library) then you use
only Integer type for more or less everything. Or you use C char arrays in
stead of Ada strings etc... Thick binding you add more layer to the binding so
that you can use the powers of Ada when you use your library. I mean you don't
need to - Wed, Dec 1 2004 5:14 pm

escaping long lines - 2 new
---------------------------
Hi, assume I have a large line like: TYPE enum1 is (aa, bb, cc, dd, ...); or
Put("This is a reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaallllllllllyyyyyyyy long output");
which is more than 80 chars. How can I escape those long lines? I'm looking
for something like "\" in shell syntax or a "%" in LaTeX. Thanks in advance -

Anti-Ariane cases? - 1 new
--------------------------
Something I've never heard discussed are cases where critical hardware really
does go bad (like, ahem, sensors producing "impossible" values) and the
resulting switch to backup hardware really does prevent a major failure. How
often does this happen? (I know, a very vague question, but perhaps enough to
get a discussion started) - Wed, Dec 1 2004 7:13 pm
