Hi Christopher, You have some brand of "wet cell" battery, if you are putting water in the cells. The norm is 3 to 5 years or less depending on how well the charge level is maintained. You can kill them in 2 or 3 months if you let them set completely discharged, which your trailer will do if not plugged in to shore power while not using the trailer. I put two Optima AGM Batteries (this is a completely sealed, maintenance free battery - the acid is impregnated into a fiberglass mat then sandwiched between the lead plates and rolled into a roll to form each cell) in my 34' Limited in 2000 when I purchased it. I added a 50 watt solar panel to keep the batteries charged while the trailer is in storage. I fully expect this setup to last 8 to 10 years or maybe more. I would replace the batteries with "Lifeline" brand AGM batteries if I had to replace them today. I have two of these in my boat that sets for 4 or 5 months at a time, then cranks right up with no problem. They can be run to total discharge up to 500 times without killing them, and they will hold their charge for long periods of no load storage. I think they were $180 each, but I hate dead batteries - especially when I am 30 miles off shore in the boat. The AGM technology batteries are getting to be more common now, but the Optima brand was the only ones I could find when I purchased the first ones for the trailer. Batteries Plus carries both these brands here in Wilmington, MC. I had replaced the battery in my 2000 GMC truck with an "Exide" brand AGM battery that had 1000 cold cranking amps that I purchased at Sam's Club for about $100 as I recall. I traded the truck for a 2004 about 8 months later, so do not know how well the battery preformed over time.
