Don't Miss Last Call to Ditch NT 4

With Microsoft pulling the support plug on Windows NT 4 on
Jan. 1, it's time to stop waiting and start migrating.

The recent very serious bug in the WINS protocol is further
proof of the folly of sticking with NT4, even if it appears
to work fine. Microsoft may not even patch this bug on NT4.
And if they don't, they sure aren't going to patch the next
one.

4. News: New VOIP Exploits Coming Soon

Experts say VOIP systems' many layers provide more entry
points for attackers, even though vendors downplay the risks
to avoid "scaring the consumer" away from a growing market.
The message for enterprises: Consider security above cost
when weighing the options.

5. News: Spammers in Shooting War with Lycos Europe

Lycos Europe screen saver was only supposed to slow spammers.
Ironically, the screen saver site itself is down too,
apparently from a DDOS attack by spammers.
