I did exactly what you are contemplating. Have been using it daily for the last 17 months with excellent results. Look for brush-type Nema 42 DC servos in the 100volt/15 amp range (not stall current) on Ebay or elsewhere. Usually rated V/Krpm, so a 40 volt/k rpm motor with a 2500 rpm would be a 100 volt servo. Gecko 320's will control large servos at lesser voltage sacrificing a bit of speed and not any torque providing you have the neccessary amperage from the power supply. 15 amps is probably plenty from the power supply for all 3 axis. A 1 Ghz or better PC running Mach2 with Bob Campbells breakout board(interface between PC and Geckos). Check mine out at Yahoo groups CNC-pics under rogersmach. It's a very easy retrofit. Ron
