I too experienced rapid exhaust manifold gasket
failure at the center ports. I tried all the usual
repairs to no avail. Double manifold gaskets finally
did the trick. It's been almost 10,000 miles now with
no leak. I guess the head surface is warped and the
double gaskets took up the slack. I also used gold
silicone sealer with the double gaskets but I also
used it after surfacing the manifold and reinstalling
with single gaskets and experienced the failure
quickly.
