That is great and shows that perhaps Neo4j should be supported on Java 8. But there is subtle but important difference between "it works on Java 8" versus "it's supported on Java 8". As a newcomer to Neo4j it leaves a really bad impression when there are warnings telling me Java 8 isn't supported and the installation instructions in the manual and website all point to Java 7. But if Java 7 will no longer be receiving public updates, which I assume include security patches, where does that leave me? I'd definitely look at competitor's graph databases if Neo4j is only supported on a Java version that is no longer receiving public updates.
