Did you check out cable/connector intermittent problems?
Have you done any PicKit s/w upgrades?

a little OT, I know, but I am flabbergasted: My PICkit3 does not flash
my 16F627A anymore - but the 16F716 can still be flashed perfectly.
Anyone ever had the same problem? It occured over night, I have flashed
many 16F627A using the exact adapter.
