You shouldn’t have received a faceplate that was scratched. I would have 
returned that one (as I have done before). As long as you use a clean lint free 
cloth and the correct cleaner it’s pretty easy to clean acrylic. Fire polishing 
can work, but best if you practice a bit first as has already been mentioned.
