Hi Mike,
This is a bit hard to answer without seeing your configuration, but
here's how I'd go about it.
Run a tone (use something like 400Hz, so it's unique) through a direct
line input to only one channel; don't assign any busses or subgroups at
all. Open up the Aux send 1 for that channel and make sure all other sends
are zeroed. Now take a scope or meter and hit the most logical patch bay
points (I'd try to go by the labels that Neotek used for a start). When you
find that signal, vary the level of the Aux send and see if you get a
corresponding change in amplitude at the measurement point. If that works
out, then go to Aux 2, etc. using the same procedure. The key is to try and
minimize the other outputs also seeing the same signal so you can isolate
it to the Aux sends. You can do the same on the returns by hooking the
generator up there and monitoring at the other end. Good luck!

I want to get external effects routed through the board, and I have no
clue how I'm going to figure out where the aux sends and receives would be
on my patch block. I do have that standard patchbay built into the board
which is labeled with probably all possible connections, but it's wired to
the ADC patchblocks and there are so many wires to deal with. When I try
a continuity check (thanks Frank) from the plugs to the block, everything
rings out so I'm probably hitting a ground or something... Would it be
safe to assume that the wire that comes off the plug on the patchbay would
be routed to the correct place on one of the three patchblocks?

confirmed : at least on my series 1: effects on er1 and er2 can be fed
to any sub or 2mix by echo 1 and echo 2 gain pot on each sub
and a master gain for echo1 echo2 located above the subs
At the risk of sounding stupid, can someone confirm that on a Series 1E,
that ER1 and ER2 are effects returns?
Can someone also confirm what the A, B, C and D pots are actually fed
from? They look like they are foldback and echo levels from the submix
section. If all I want to do is get some external effects processed
through the board do I even care about these?
I've got the board up and running and processing audio to a computer
interface and so far, so good.
