Hi All,
I installed an insert balancing kit, with bypass switch, in an
Elite 364, ca. 1986, on Friday, and it works perfectly. The switch is
absolutely silent, no pop, click or glitch of any kind. I used a locking
toggle switch, the kind where you have to pull up on the toggle to flip
the switch. This is to make sure that you never ruin a mix by
accidentally bypassing your insert chain as you reach for the master
fader (or a pack of gum, Homer Simpson action figure, or some Rolaids or
whatever...). Installing the switch makes the install a bit more
complex, but it's still not rocket science. Let me know if you are
interested. I am trying to finalize pricing, but I am hoping that the
kit c/w bypass switch will be just around $300.00, and closer to $200.00
without the switch. Also, let me know if the high quality 1/8" (3.5mm)
jack for iPod / MP-3 / computer audio interface option appeals to you.
