Hello folks at the Neotek Forum.

I recently became business partner with two guys running a studio where a
Neotek
Series II is in operation.

Something wasn't right when I first worked on the console, but I was rushing
i.e. no time to think...

What happens is:

1) patchin' an external mic preamp output into a Tape Input (Mix Mode, i.e.
Line
In and Mixdown buttons down) results in a too low recording level unless a
second TT cable is inserted into the corresponding Direct Out (sort of a break)

2) when bussing channels via the multitrack output, the signal of the
corresponding channels will be bused as well. Say you send ch. #16 thru #20 to
busses 1&2: kick (ch. #1) and snare (ch. #2) will be at the group output as
well.

I don't have a huge experience with different consoles, but fair enough to say
this isn't right. True?

Long story short: I think the Direct Outs have been hard-patched to the
Multitrack Outputs/Tape Inputs by a previous owner.

I want to pull the patch-bay modules to see what's underneath. I suspect
there's
something down there.

HOW DO YOU DO IT? What's the best procedure? I've been unscrewing and pulling
but they don't lift...

Any help greatly appreciated.

Thank you. Gabe.
