I am running Nessus 1.1.11 and NMAP 2.54BETA30 on Red Hat 7.2 and have the following problem - I start the scan and when NMAP reaches 99% it just hangs there. I have let it try to finish for 6 hours and still at 99% whether I input 1-1500 or 1-15000 ports or 1-65535 ports. When I kill -HUP the NMAP PID, it then continues on to an nmap tcp-connect scan and locates the ports. At no time have I checked off the option for a tcp-connect scan. Running nmap separately against the same system, it completes in under 2 minutes. The system which is running Nessus has 512mb of RAM, on a PIII 800. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I have rebuilt Nessus and NMAP many times now over the last 3 weeks. Prior to that, it was working like a charm. I have also tried getting the latest version 1.1.12 through cvs, same results. Thanks.
