hello,

i got freebsd on my machine with ipfw. there is no lan
on it and i only use dial-up to ISP.

i'd like to test my sys with nessus and started doing
so until i read in the FAQ that if you have firewall
between nessusd and the system you want to scan, the
results may be inacurate.

in my case the nessusd + client run on the same system.
also, the test is done on the same system...

the way it is configured now is:

nessus client connects to nessusd via loopback 127.0.0.1

ipfw allows all outgoing tcp + udp but doent allow incoming
on anywhere...

do you think this may lead to inacurate results?

if so, is there any other way to do it with a single machine?

Regards
