Knowing that Detached/Continuous scan reports reside on the server, what is the best methodology in retaining these reports?
The email daemon in detached mode is great! but what if someone wishes to choose not to have the reports emailed to them (specifically in the clear - no encryption).
I was thinking of building a parser in which the reports resulting from a detached/continuous policy would be preped for db entry via SQL script, then shoved into a db via cron.
If this is not feasable, maybe having an app like "Micromuse Netcool Telealert" process the email sent by nessusd into a db.
Thanks to Juan and syslogd, the activity monitoring of nessusd via Netcool should be pretty slick! now shoving the reports into a db via SQL script with a detached/continuous (start - and forget) policy... I couldn't stop oooing and ahhhing %^)
NessusWX SQL feature is great, but can't be used on the server side as far as I know.
If anyone has any perl scripts or anything in regards to SQL generation on the server side please let me know. I would hate to reinvent the wheel! ;-)
Thanks,
Troy
