Renaud Deraison (author of nessus) and I have had conversation off list of use of cygwin on win32 to compile nessus. He has in the past done it. I don't know if he's done it recently. I haven't tried myself. Both the idea of cygwin and mingw compiles sound good to me, but what would you be wanting to compile? Nessus server for Win32 - I don't know how realistic that would be. Or just the GUI client?
