System;
RHL 7.3, 2.4.18-3 kernel (as well as 2.4.19 vanilla)

Nessus v.;
1.2.4

Issue
No problem dumping libnasl and the nessus* components
on the system. Followed the order, put /usr/local/lib
in 'ld.so.conf' and ran 'ldconfig'.

Problem is anytime I run 'nessus-adduser' or
'nessus-mkcert' or 'nessusd' I get a varying of this;

 nessusd
nessusd: error while loading shared libraries:
libnasl.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such
file or directory

 nessus-adduser
nessusd: error while loading shared libraries:
libnasl.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such
file or directory
Executing nessusd failed. Make sure your library
loader is configured properly
and that nessusd is in your $PATH

nessus-mkcert
nessusd: error while loading shared libraries:
libnasl.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such
file or directory
Executing nessusd failed. Make sure your library
loader is configured properly
and that nessusd is in your $PATH

I can't seem to figure why this pukes on me, or what
I've missed.

locate nessusd | more
/usr/local/sbin/nessusd

env
PATH=/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/X11R6/bin:/root/bin

To me it appears everything is golden. Paths are
there, ldconfig ran, etc.

Can anyone point to what I am missing or need to fix?

I had this same problem with 1.2.3 as well. Any/all
pointers/help/info is greatly appreciated.

ps,

locate libnasl

locate libnasl | more
/usr/local/lib/libnasl.so.1.2.4
/usr/local/lib/libnasl.so.1
/usr/local/lib/libnasl.so
/usr/local/lib/libnasl.la
/usr/local/lib/libnasl.a
