Hello, everyone.

I am running SuSE8 Pro, which came with Nessus 1.0.10. I chose to
remove that, and have a go at installing 1.2.4 instead. To that end, I
am trying to use the nessus-installer.sh script, but am running into
problems with the compilation. The old version was rpm based, so I
removed it the usual rpm way.

I looked at the FAQ and the section marked 'How do I install on SuSE'
and have checked that yacc (bison), flex, gtk-devel and gtklib-devel are
all installed.

The process seems to run normally enough, albeit with a lot of warnings
for some of the modules, until it stops at:

nessus.c: In function 'connect_to_nessusd'
nessus.c:581 warning: Implicit declaration of function
'comm_get_dependencies'
/usr/i486-suse-linux/bin/ld: cannot find -lXi
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[1]: *** [nessus] Error 1
make: *** [client] Error 2
**** An error occured :/

Then it prompts me to save the log file which I did. I'd really like
to get this working, so if anyone has any ideas that might fix this, I'd
love to hear about them.

Thanks,
Stuart.
