File under "doh!". Apparently I didn't pay close enough attention to my MdkPS 8.2 install, nor did I pay close enough attention to the nessus-installer.sh install, because if I had, I would have realized that somehow my /tmp partition is only 63MB (!??!) and that the compile of all the Nessus components exceeded that 63MB, causing the installation to not truly complete, even though the end-of-compile "Everything has completed successfully." message appeared. After setting TMPDIR=/home/tmp (where there was plenty of free space), the compile finished with only a feel parm-related warnings (type, casting, lack of use, etc) and now everything works just fine.
Apologies for not following-up sooner... I am curious why the end message appeared, though, rather than indicating there was a problem during compile and indicating that the install had not gone correctly. Should the installer abend or something with an error? I, for one, tend to start compiles and walk away to do other things, and would imagine I'm not the only one... -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Renaud Deraison Sent: Wednesday, October 09, 2002 2:32 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: core dump under Mdk ProSuite 8.2 On Wed, Oct 09, 2002 at 11:16:41AM -0700, [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > When I posted the first time I had already done a > complete uninstall and clean install with the same > results.
