Building nessus without gtk

I'm working on a server that, by necessity, does not have gtk or anything X.11'ish installed.  I have included the --disable-gtk switch when doing the nessus-core build (as per website instructions).  I still receive the error "./configure: /usr/bin/gtk-config: No such file or directory" during the build, and it does not generate anything useful.

Suggestions?
