Hello Tim, We also ran Nessus to determine SQL servers vulnerable to the Shappire worm. Using plugin ID 11216 (Revision 1.3) on Nessus 1.2.0/RedHat 7.2, Nessus has correctly identified our servers vulnerability status. Nessus results were also confirmed using the EEye tool.
Hope this helps, Gaspar -----Original Message----- From: Tim Sailer [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Tuesday, January 28, 2003 3:38 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: SQL Slammer Folks, We have a few SQL servers here, all protected behind firewalls, so they were no problem to us or anyone else. However, we've been running nessus against them to find out if they need to be patched. Well, the various nessus scripts showed that *all* the machines were vulnerable, when, in fact, they were not. Is there some definitive way to check? Tim -- Tim Sailer <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Application Services Information Technology Division Brookhaven National Laboratory (631) 344-3001
