You can choose txt, xml, etc. etc. then parse and query off of that, but I do not believe there is a built in way to output to a text file as such.
Most people are taking and working with the XML file and working off that, or importing the XML to a sql database then querying Robert Timko, CISSP Trellis Network Services www.trellisnet.com -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] On Behalf Of Pari Sahai Sent: Sunday, February 16, 2003 5:27 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Question about the output Hi: I have a question about the output of results after the scan is completed. I'm currently saving the results as an HTML file so I can view them from the web. Is there a way to get these results in a text file such that: 1. If I've run scan on multiple hosts, I'd like to see all critical alerts together. 2. And then I'd like to see the less severe ones... together (for all the hosts) 3. And to somehow see similar alerts from more than one host bundled into a section? Can this be done? If not, how are most people doing this? I'm asking so I can compile the results from Nessus into a report (word format) and inform appropriate people of how many critical etc. alerts were seen. For eg. 10 critical alerts found.... IP address 1 - critical alert 1 IP address 2 - critical alert 2, 3, 4 IP address 5 - critical alert 5 etc. thanks, Pari Sahai
